With the exception of current officers, any current member of the ISTA is eligible to be nominated for the trapper of the year. However the committee will pick only one trapper of the year.
Any nominations received before the awards ceremony of the convention will be considered for that year. All nominations received after the ceremony will be considered for the following year. Nominations for Trapper of the Year will be good only for the year they are received. They must be nominated again to be eligible for the next year.
The people who receive this award are the trappers who are always working to help their fellow trappers by volunteering for various ISTA activities. Attending meetings, representing trapper interests at public DNR meetings, doing demos at trapper education classes, donating to the auction, selling raffle tickets, introducing young people to trapping, serving on committees, and so on. |
